2 teens missing in Manipur, tension grips state yet again; curbs on internet stay

KOLKATA: Two teenage boys have been missing since Sunday morning after leaving their Imphal West homes on a bike, triggering fresh tension in restive Manipur and protests for the duo to be located.The mystery behind the disappearance of Ningthoujam Anthony (19) and Maibam Avinash (16) deepened when police said their phones were found wrapped in a bag near a fuel station in Senapati district headquarters.Police said Anthony and Avinash, from Lamshang locality of Imphal West, were last seen in CCTV footage riding the bike in Kanglatongbi area, near Sekmai, in Imphal West around 10.15am on Sunday."A search operation is on to locate the two boys," Imphal West SP Ksh Shivakanta Singh said. Residents of Lamshang blocked the main road in the area and burnt tyres in protest.
